Crowdfunding Fulfillment for Kickstarter, BackerKit & Indiegogo Creators

Crowdfunding fulfillment is what happens after the campaign funds: receiving your print run, kitting rewards by pledge tier, and shipping every backer their package with tracking. Laguna Studios does that work for indie creators on Kickstarter, BackerKit, Indiegogo, and Gamefound.

We're an official Kickstarter Expert Partner, which means Kickstarter itself vouches for our ability to get rewards from the warehouse shelf to your backers' hands. We've fulfilled 150+ campaigns and shipped over 350,000 rewards, and we've been on the creator side of the campaign page too, not just the warehouse side.

What Crowdfunding Fulfillment Actually Means

Crowdfunding fulfillment — sometimes called crowdfunding 3PL — is everything that happens between your campaign closing and your backers receiving what they paid for. That means:

- Printing your books, comics, stickers, or merch
- Receiving and storing the inventory when it lands
- Kitting and packing every individual order by pledge tier
- Shipping with tracking, accuracy, and care
- And dealing with — yep — the inevitable "where's my package?" emails

If you've got 300 backers, that's 300 small puzzles to solve. If you've got 3,000? That's a full-time job. We're built to handle the messy, behind-the-scenes part so you don't have to.

Step-by-Step: How It Works

1. Plan with fulfillment in mind. Even before launch, we'll help you price shipping tiers, estimate package weights, and avoid the classic traps; oversized rewards, customs disasters, shipping costs that eat your margin.

2. Your campaign funds. Congrats. Now the logistics begin. We coordinate printing if you need it and get ready to receive your inventory.

3. Your product arrives at our warehouse. We check it in, prep it for packing, and match it to your pledge tiers whether you've got five reward levels or fifty.

4. Orders flow in. From BackerKit, PledgeBox, or your platform of choice. We pick, pack, and ship each one with tracking.

5. Backers get their rewards. You get a quiet inbox and a campaign that delivered what it promised, which makes your next campaign that much easier to fund.

How Much Does Crowdfunding Fulfillment Cost?

Most crowdfunding 3PLs, us included, price in four parts: a per-order pick and pack fee, a small per-item fee for multi-item pledges, monthly storage by the shelf or pallet, and postage at the carrier rate. Kitting (assembling a pledge tier from several components) is quoted separately by the hour or by the unit.

What moves the number most is package weight and reward count per tier, which is why we like to be in the conversation before you set your shipping tiers. Our current rates are on the fulfillment rate sheet, we walk through the math with a worked example in How Much Does Crowdfunding Fulfillment Cost?, and a campaign-specific quote takes us about a day.

Why Getting This Right Matters

When fulfillment goes smoothly, your backers stay happy, your inbox stays quiet, and your next campaign has a better shot at funding. When it goes badly? Missed shipments, angry comments, one-star updates, and burned-out creators who swear off crowdfunding for good.

Let's not do that.

We take fulfillment seriously so you don't have to take it personally. You make the thing; we'll make sure it gets where it needs to go.

Creators Trust Us With Their Campaigns

"Our Kickstarter outgrew what we could handle, and Laguna stepped in with fast, efficient support — from packaging advice to post-campaign communication. We'll definitely use them again."
— Alex Rivers

As a Kickstarter Expert Partner, we've fulfilled comics and graphic novels, TTRPG projects, art books, enamel pins, apparel, and a long list of stranger things. Once the campaign is delivered, the same team can keep running your store through our 3PL pick, pack and ship service. Whatever your campaign delivers, we've probably shipped something like it.

Got a Campaign Coming Up?

Whether you're planning your first launch or fulfilling your fifth, let's talk before the boxes pile up. The earlier we're in the conversation, the more we can save you on shipping, on headaches, on 2 a.m. spreadsheet panic.
