You did it again. X-Series Season 97 Part 2: Enter the Lagunaverse closed on August 4 at $24,383 from 181 backers, against a $5,000 goal. That's 488% funded, and it's the second time this year the X-Series has blown past what we asked for. Thank you. Every single one of you who pledged, voted, and hyped this thing in the comments made it happen.
Here's the recap: what got made, how the story voting worked, and exactly when your box shows up.
What the Lagunaverse actually is
If Part 1 was a nod to our favorite 90s mutant-hero cartoon, Part 2 is us building out the world around it. The X-Series is a parody line, a love letter to the Saturday-morning era drawn by our own artists, and this campaign added a whole new layer: X-Academy, an animated story that ran alongside the campaign. Backers watched each episode, then voted in the community section on what happened next. Whose side are you on in the gym basketball showdown? Your votes decided it, and every decision unlocked the next piece of merch.
That's the part we're proudest of. This wasn't a hoodie drop with a countdown timer. It was a story people got to steer.
What you unlocked
- Zip-up hoodies and track jackets in the new Season 97 designs: 95% recycled polyester, 5% spandex, brushed fleece lining, zippered pockets, relaxed fit, made in the USA.
- X-Buddy bags: water-resistant, inside and outside pockets, adjustable strap, two-way zipper.
- Pins, shoes, bandanas and the other unlocks the votes opened up along the way. The bandanas come in three sizes, and yes, the small one is for your pet.
Character sketches came from Onebadnoodle_, and the designs were built by a team of thirteen, including several School of Comics students and interns who got their first professional credits on this campaign. One of our garment designers is sixteen and has been working professionally for four years. We're not going to pretend that isn't the coolest line in this post.
When your rewards ship
Here's the timeline we're working to:
- Backer survey goes out through the BackerKit pledge manager. That's where you pick designs and sizes, so keep an eye on your inbox and fill it out as soon as it lands. Sizing this season is by chest circumference, not the pit-to-pit measurement we used before, so measure yourself and check the chart before you choose.
- Production runs three weeks to two months depending on the total order count.
- Fulfillment takes two to four weeks once the finished goods reach us. Estimated shipment: September 21, 2026.
Two things worth repeating from the campaign page. Everything is made to order, so we can't do refunds or exchanges on sizing; the chart is there for a reason. And if you chose Pay Over Time, your rewards ship once the final installment clears.
The part most campaigns can't say
We fulfill this campaign ourselves. The same warehouse in San Antonio that ships orders for other creators' Kickstarters is the one that will pack yours: counted in, checked, and packed by people who drew the designs. It's the whole reason we started offering crowdfunding fulfillment to other creators in the first place. We've been the campaign side of the table 150+ times now, and we ship the way we'd want our own rewards shipped.
Missed the campaign?
The Season 97 designs will land on the store after backers get theirs. Until then, the current X-Series zip-up hoodies, track jackets, and ASS-tonishing pins are all in stock, and a jacket or hoodie now gets you 30% off a matching pin at checkout.
And if you're a creator watching this thinking "I want to run one of these": we'd love to hear about it.
